Why Counseling?
If anxiety, depression, stress, or trauma have been taking up too much space in your life, it can start to feel like your mind is driving and you’re just… along for the ride. Maybe you’re high-functioning on the outside, but internally you’re running on fumes—overthinking, self-criticizing, people-pleasing, shutting down, or getting yanked into the same emotional loops no matter how hard you try to “fix it.”
If that’s you, you’re not broken. You’re stuck in patterns your mind and nervous system learned for a reason. And those patterns can change.
In our work, we won’t just talk about what’s wrong—we’ll build the skills that help you relate differently to what’s happening inside you. I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with CBT and solution-focused strategies when they fit. The goal is psychological flexibility: learning how to notice your thoughts without getting hooked by them, make room for emotions without getting swallowed by them, and take meaningful action even when you don’t feel ready, confident, or “fixed.”
And for many people, there’s a deeper layer underneath the symptoms—feeling disconnected from yourself, unsure what you want anymore, or wondering why life feels heavy or flat even when things look “fine.” Therapy can be a place to reconnect with what matters, rebuild a sense of direction, and start living from your values instead of your fear.
My goal isn’t for you to rely on therapy forever. My goal is for you to leave with tools you can actually use—so you can meet your mind and emotions with more steadiness, more compassion, and more choice. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out.
